Are you wondering what we did for Halloween? Well, I am a firm believer that young children should not be given candy. At least, no child of mine! So we did not go trick or treating last year, nor did we go last night. I’m not sure when we will feel right about taking Jack out to get candy that we won’t let him eat, but it probably won’t happen for a few more years, at least.
Instead of getting loaded on sugar, we headed to Tumble & Tea for an event aimed at the under 5 crowd. They had a band playing and a “My First Haunted House,” in addition to play equipment for the kids to climb. As soon as we walked up to the door and Jack heard the band, he started bouncing to the beat. We shuffled him inside and he had a blast running around and climbing everywhere with the other kids.
The only disappointments of the night included a little girl who was clearly over 5 kicking Jack in the head (although it was an accident) and missing most of the band since it takes so much time to get Jack out of the door these days (he simply MUST walk by himself). We still had fun!
